Dear Parents,
I just wanted to update you on our field trip to the pumpkin patch. As we drove up to the pumpkin patch in the bus, it was an amazing experience. For miles, all you could see was a blanket of orange across the desert brush. There were pumpkins as far as the eyes could see. As we got off the bus, you could hear cries of joy and laughter from the children. I loved seeing the excitement in their eyes. One little child said, "Some of these pumpkins are bigger than me. There were pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. Some children picked big fat ones, some picked small ones, each child got to choose a pumpkin they felt belonged to them. The excitement didn't stop there. We then went to the Halloween festival. There were booths of all kinds. The most popular was the pumpkin carving booth. There were scary faces and funny faces and cute faces being made. Some children made cats, some made spiders. Each pumpkin was different and unique. It was such an amazing experience and one I will remember forever. Pictures will be posted to our class shutterfly site soon.
Sincerely,
Miss Lassere

Dear Parents,
I just wanted to let you know how the student of the week project works. First, you need to make a poster board to display in class. It needs to include a description about your child. Some ideas can be your child's favorite things to do, a brief description about your child's life, you childs favorite places to vacation, etc. The poster also needs to include pictures of your child. It can also include pictures of your family, your child's friends, family pets, etc. This poster should tell the story of your child.
You also need to have your child bring in their favorite book. I will read this book to the class so it needs to be school appropriate. Some books that have been brought in before are: If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, Good Night Moon, I'll Love You Forever, etc.
Last you need to include your child's favorite toy or item to bring in for show and tell. The child will talk about the item to the class. This also needs to be school appropriate.
I look forward to getting to know your child and I cant wait to see what they have to share with the class. Have a wonderful day.
Sincerely,
Miss Lassere

Dear Parents,
In anticipation for the first day of school, I thought your child might enjoy this poem.
Two More Days Till School
By: Leslie Kimmelman
I'm finally going to school this year,
and now the big day's almost here.
I'll learn to write and count and read--
Only two more days till school.
I got new pants and shirts and socks,
a brand-new red and blue lunch box;
I'll paint and sing and dance and play--
Only one more day fill school.
My hair is washed, my sneakers squeak,
I'm so excited, I can hardly speak!
New things to do, new friends to meet--
Hooray! It's the first day of school!
Sincerely,
Miss Lassere
